My story of pioneering in STEM: leading a robotics team, developing an AI driver assistance system, scoring 1490 on the SAT, and winning admits at Georgia Tech, UMich, and UNC Charlotte.

Breaking barriers in STEM and engineering leadership has always been my passionate pursuit. My vision was to combine mechanical engineering with artificial intelligence at one of the world's leading engineering powerhouses: Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). However, securing admission to Georgia Tech Mechanical Engineering requires an elite combination of mathematical rigor, technical software proficiency in MATLAB & Python, and demonstrated leadership.

1. Baseline Reality: From Robotics Captain to Georgia Tech Admit

When I started working with EduQuest, I served as Robotics Team Captain, had developed a MATLAB & Python portfolio, participated in the Women in Engineering Leadership Program, and built an AI-Based Driver Assistance Project. My SAT score was hovering around 1350, which needed a significant boost to compete for top engineering institutions.

2. Obstacles I Overcame Before Real Mentorship

I was struggling to optimize my SAT Reading & Writing performance while managing complex MATLAB simulation algorithms for my driver assistance project.

  • SAT Reading Passage Fatigue Losing focus on dense literature and science passages in SAT Reading Module 2.
  • Under-representing AI & Coding Work Failing to frame my MATLAB & Python driver assistance algorithms into an academic research narrative.
  • Time Crunch Managing robotics team captain duties while preparing for standardized testing.
The Breakthrough: Coupling my AI-based driver assistance project with a stellar 1490 SAT score and robotics leadership positioned me as an elite candidate for Georgia Tech.

3. How EduQuest 1-on-1 Coaching Made the Difference

EduQuest mentors guided me step-by-step to achieve a 1490 SAT score (Math 780, RW 710). They also assisted me in structuring my engineering essays to highlight my leadership in the Women in Engineering program and my technical AI driver assistance project.
