INTRODUCTION
JEE is a joint exam conducted by various engineering colleges all over the country for admissions in engineering and architecture courses. NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY RECENT UPDATES
- NTA has decided that both the exams of JEE will be conducted in online mode from 2019 onwards.
- JEE will be conducted twice a year in January and April for BTech and B-Arch courses to get more registrations from aspirants.
- JEE aspirants can appear either in January or April as per their convenience. If they decide to appear in both the exams then the best of the two scores will be considered for their admission.
- NTA has provided students with the facility of choosing their desired exam date by conducting the exam in eight different schedules.

JEE MAIN UPDATES
- The registration process for JEE 2021 has started in the first week of September. Examination dates are still not confirmed yet due to the pandemic but if things go smoothly exams would be conducted in January and April only.
- Candidates appearing for JEE mains are eligible only for three consecutive years.
- NTA has decided to conduct JEE main in more regional languages to provide a fair chance to more aspirants.
- Under the DASA scheme now NRIs, foreign students, PIO, CIWG students will also have to appear for JEE as SAT 2 scores will not be considered for admissions in NITs and IIITs anymore.
- The application form will be having two separate choices for CIWG and NRI and both choices as well.
- If admission happens under the CIWG category, the extra amount will be refunded to applicants.
- Through DASA foreign students can apply for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and architecture.
JEE MAINS
Renamed in 2013 JEE Main conducts exams in three courses, B-tech, B-Arch, and B-Planning. The syllabus of all three courses is based on the syllabus of 11th and 12th standard to relieve students from extra study pressure.
NTA has made certain changes in the exam pattern of JEE mains for the upcoming years.
For B-Tech,
- Subjects of evaluation are the same as in previous years- Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.
- Whereas the number of questions has been reduced in the paper. There will be 25 questions in each paper from now onwards.
- The question paper will contain 20 MCQs and 5 questions will be numerically based
- Each paper will have an equal weightage of marks.
For B-Arch,
- Subjects of evaluation are Maths, Aptitude, and Drawing
- The question paper will have 20 MCQs, 5 Objective questions, and 2 questions in a drawing test.
- Aptitude test will be of 50 marks only.
For B-Planning,
- Subjects of evaluation are Maths, Aptitude, and Planning.
- From now onwards, Maths is the only subject compulsory for students to have in the 11th and 12th classes to appear in JEE exams for B-Planning.
- There will be no drawing test for this course.
- The exam pattern of maths and aptitude will be the same as of B-Arch.
- There will be 25 questions in the planning paper.
